Typical mistakes by 1800-2000 players
GM Nicholas Pert on this DVD: "After the success of my previous work 'Typical mistakes by 1600-1900 players', I decided to make a sequel aimed at players of a slightly higher level. The examples all come from games of chess players with Elo between 1800 and 2100. This DVD offers slightly more complicated material than the previous one, and I hope it provides insight into what I believe are the main mistakes that hold players at that level back from achieving more success. I divided the material into categories such as "when changing pieces", "how to convert an advantage", "passive pieces", "anticipating the opponent's plans", "openings and pawn structure". Each section includes several samples that illustrate the topic and several practical examples to test the capabilities of the spectator. This DVD provides a useful training tool for ambitious players and can highlight errors that the spectator should be aware of.".
