Master Class Vol.2: Mihail Tal

No other world champion dazzled the chess world like Mihail Tal. His reign as world champion was short, but in his time Tal's star shone with an unknown intensity. With his intuitive combinations and sacrifices, the young Tal surpassed his rivals and charmed the chess world with his risky and uncompromising attacking play, which inspired many players to emulate him. In 1960 he defeated the then reigning World Champion Botvinnik, but a year later he lost the title in a rematch of dubious competitive value.
