Rules of thumb are the key to everything when you have to chart the right course in a complex ending. In this latest DVD in the endgame series, our endgame specialist introduces you to the most important rules of thumb. The first part deals with general guidelines, such as activating the king, rooks behind passed pawns, not rushing. In addition to these principles, which are specific to endgames, there are also empirical rules for making changes correctly, prophylaxis or improving the position of the worst placed piece, which should already be taken into account in the middlegame.
