Ask the pieces
How should chess training be systematically structured so that students are able to use the newly acquired fresh knowledge in their games? Author Stefan Becker came up with a surprisingly simple answer. The solution to all chess problems lies on the board. So it is quite logical that we ask our pieces what they think about their future. But what do those discussions sound like and what happens if the pieces have different interests that conflict? This DVD provides answers to these questions and more by working with various selected masterpieces. Suddenly it becomes clear how world-class players come up with their brilliant ideas. Stefan Becker illustrates the concept by talking to the pieces, taking the role of player. The great German master Dr. Karsten MÜller lends his voice to the pieces and tries to express his feelings, goals, plans, desires and fears. Becker then shows how this information, along with calculation and new questions, leads to the right decisions on the board. Becker's didactic concept can also be used by teachers to explain the ins and outs of chess to their students.
