However, to face such a serious effort, they have to get down to work and learn a whole series of subvariants. In the first part, the leading Moldovan chess player discusses systems in which black avoids the main continuation 3...a6 on their third move. Exotic lines such as 3...Nd4, 3...Nge7, 3...g6 and 3...Bc5 are included, which however should not be underestimated. In 3...f5 (Schliemann Defense) he examines a system that has found a place in the repertoires of many top players. However, the main variation begins with 3...Nf6 and in its main move order leads to the Berlin Wall.
